Friend of the Sea
OLVEA FIsh Oils is certified sustainable by Friend of the Sea.
In the production of our Omega-3 fish oils, we use fishes which originate from certified supply chains in compliance with the European Regulations.
Those fishes are caught by Friend of the Sea approved purse seiners with no impact to the seabed. We have a rigorous sustainability management policy in place. We source our fish oils in geographical zones where the fish stocks have been monitored and assessed by the FAO (Food and Agricultural Organisation of the United Nations) as sustainable.
Our supply chain is closely monitored from the purchase order to the final destination using HACCP methods to provide sanitary and safety insurance to our customers.
OLVEA Atlantic, OLVEA Fish Oils' operating subsidiary in Morocco, has the GMP+ Feed Safety Assurance certification, which guarantees the quality and the safety of its fish oils for feed ingredients.
GMP + Feed Safety Assurance is a quality system ensuring good hygienic practices, risk analysis like HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and a feed safety management system.
According to HACCP rules every step of the production process ; from the reception to the shipment of the fish oils ; are subject to a feed safety hazard analysis. For each step, control measures are put in place and a monitoring of every critical points is performed.
We are pleased to announce the certification of OLVEA Fish Oils according to IFIS (IFSA Feed Ingredients Standard) obtained on February 1, 2007 and renewed on January 19, 2010.
This new international standard defined by the IFSA (International Feed Safety Alliance) in September 2005 applies to the suppliers of ingredients for animal feed.
It relates to trade, storage, winterisation, conditioning and distribution activities for fish oils and stearin, or cod liver oils as well as lard stearin.
This standard defines requirements in the frame of :
1. the good hygienic practices to be respected at all the stages of the process
2. an HACCP implementation in order to control the hazards of health safety
3. a quality organization standard like ISO 9001
