Charitable Organization Marocavie

WHO ARE WE?
In order to be an active participant in sustainable development in Morocco, OLVEA Morocco co-workers have set up a charitable organization, Marocavie.
Marocavie works with local volunteers only, and is completely independent of any political or religious affiliations and free of any commercial influence.

FINANCE
OLVEA Morocco gives to Marocavie a percentage of its turnover for every kilo of oil sold. Thus, everytime you buy OLVEA Morocco's argan oil from OLVEA Vegetable Oils, you are contributing to Marocavie.

MISSION
Marocavie’s mission is to support projects that aim to:
• combat the spread of the desert and slow the rural exodus,
• improve the education of the children,
• provide socioeconomical opportunities for women and their families.

PROJECTS
• Biougra Region
The first drops of water from the well at Biougra
action1The Izkritne Association in a village of 1300 inhabitants (108 households).
The village has a well 170 metres deep but with no pump to draw the water. Marocavie has supplied and installed a pump. The people of the village were then trained to operate and maintain the installation.

Objectives:

• to irrigate plots of agricultural land which were dry for the previous 5 years.
• to allow the local people to develop vegetable farming to meet their food needs.
• to provide the local people with a professional occupation and so limit the drift away from the land
• to warn of the erosion caused by under-exploitation of the land.
• to combat the spread of the desert.

• Essaouira Region

Water tank in Agni
Réservoir deau Agni lightIn the region of Ait Lazza in Morocco, the supply of drinking water is far and hard to reach. Marocavie has financed the project that consists in the exploitation of two existing wells, which needed: a pump, a water distribution network, solar panels, as well as a water tank. One well is located in the village of Bougdrour, the other in the village of Agni, and also provides water to the village of Tiguemi Ouzrou. The equipment of those wells benefited to 70 families, which makes a total of 376 persons (among whom 166 children).

• Medical campaign in the Taroudant region
In 2013, Marocavie has financed a medical campaign, which aims at providing medical services to the populations of the mountainous regions. A fully equipped minibus, with a medical staff of 10 persons, has traveled 145 kilometers in one day; it went from the center of Agadir to the Province of Taroudant. More than 400 persons have benefited from medicine delivery and specialized medical consultations (general practice, dentistry, gynecology, ophthalmology, ultrasounds, screening tests…). This operation had such a resounding success, 13 new medical campaigns are scheduled from October 2015 to May 2016.
