We are pleased to announce that the Friend of the Sea certification of OLVEA Fish Oils, obtained in April 2011, has been renewed on the 6th of October 2014. This certification attests that the fish oil of OLVEA Fish Oils is coming from sustainable fishing.
The coastral fishing improvement and promotion project in Mauritania was set up early august by the Mauritanian private sector and the OLVEA Group. The President of the Republic of Mauritania, Mohamed Ould Ould Abdel Aziz, calls for a more sustainable and responsible management of the fishery sector.
OLVEA’s Eco-gestures In order to raise awareness amongst its collaborators, OLVEA has set up a company Eco-gestures charter and provided its employees with ecocups as well as recycling bins.
The Sustainable Fisheries Partnership has announced the beggining of a new Fishery Improvement Project (FIP) for small pelagic fisheries in Mauritania. Together, international fishing sector stakeholders, fishmeals and fish oils buyers, exporters and processors, in collaboration with the Mauritanian fishery authority, signed a memorandum, marking the FIP’s official beginning.
