Today is #EarthDay’s 50th birthday! This annual event celebrated worldwide aims to raise awareness and gather people around the same issue : environmental protection. OLVEA has been committed for years to preserving and respecting biodiversity. Our dedication is demonstrated on a daily basis, both through the reduction of the environmental impact of our production and through our sustainable development projects.
OLVEA Green Technologies has thus obtained the Silver status by Ecovadis, less than 1,5 year after its start-up! 🥈 This score acknowledges OLVEA’s daily work and commitment in terms of sustainable development and Corporate Social Responsibility. With a score of 63/100, our “Silver” lever places us in the top 25% of companies assesed by Ecovadis.

OLVEA Green Technologies, our eco-refining plant, is now certified according to the FSSC 22000 standard (Food Safety System Certification), attesting of the reliability of its food safety management system and therefore of its permanent control of health hazards.

OLVEA’s vegetable oils which are processed and refined in our eco-refinery OLVEA Green Technologies, have obtained the Kosher certification. This certification, delivered by the Orthodox Union guarantees that the products and their production comply with all the requirements of kashrut (the laws of kosher food).
OLVEA is working with the Sustainable Fisheries Partnership (SFP), an environmental NGO, to support their work on sustainable fisheries. OLVEA is an SFP “Target 75 Champion“, meaning that we have joined the initiative to set the goal of seeing 75% or more of global seafood volumes in key sectors being produced in a sustainable manner, or improving towards sustainability, by 2020.
OLVEA has been established in Burkina Faso for more than 10 years for its Shea butter production. OLVEA has recently developed a Sesame seed oil supply chain, which relies on OLVEA’s existing local network.
OLVEA’s Philanthropic Fund has financed a new literacy campaign in Burkina Faso, allowing the opening of 3 dedicated centres. 88 people were trained there for 4 months!
